Desiderata

Many non-profit organizations circulate a wish-list of items they would like to have but do not have the budget to buy. The Center is well supported by the College of Liberal Arts and not quite in the same category as such organizations. Still, our aspirations and activities are broad, and it is possible that among our many friends there may be those who can help with particular needs. In this spirit, and at a moment when we are all especially budget-conscious in Minnesota, we initiate what will be an occasional feature in the newsletter: DESIDERATA, a list of things that would help us serve you more effectively, which we cannot at present purchase. The first time an item is listed in DESIDERATA, an explanation of the need will be provided. Further questions may always be directed to the Center staff.

GAME EQUIPMENT: Our Spring and Fall 2004 picnics were a success! We hope to make these gatherings into annual traditions of outdoor fun and friends. Frisbees, badminton equipment (racquets, shuttlecocks, net), a bocce set, beach balls, volley balls, or any other games that are suitable for public parks would be a welcome donation. If you have any old equipment that is in good shape, please let us know. We would be happy to some pick it up and give it a new home.

WORLD GLOBES: We are in need of world globes for use in MEST 1001 courses. These do not need to be up-to-date. If you have any world globes, please let us know and we will come pick it/them up.

Thank you for the following items which we have already received:

We received a generous anonymous donation for a new refrigerator. We would like to thank our donors for their generous support of our efforts.

We received a generous donation of a punch bowl from Ms. Hulme. We would like to thank her for her generous support of our efforts.
