About Professor Heng's research:

Geraldine Heng is the author of Empire of Magic: Medieval Romance and the Politics of Cultural Fantasy (Columbia University Press 2003), and director of the Medieval Studies program at the University of Texas in Austin. She has published on feminist theory, cultural politics, sexuality, and race in the medieval period, and in the contemporary world. She is also the author of "State Fatherhood: The Politics of Nationalism, Sexuality, and Race in Singapore" and "'A Great Way to Fly': Women, Nationalism, and the Varieties of Feminism in Southeast Asia.
