Graduate Minor
M.A. minor
M.A. minor 2 courses (6 semester credits) outside the major program.
- One course which demonstrates a command of Latin. This is normally a 5xxx Latin course, but another course may be substituted with the consent of the DGS.
- An additional course in Medieval Studies or on a medieval topic. The grade in each course must be B or above.
Ph.D. minor
Ph.D. minor 4 courses (12 semester credits) outside the major department.
- One course which demonstrates a command of Latin. This is normally a 5xxx Latin course, but another course may be substituted with the consent of the DGS.
- A second Latin course 5xxx or above, or a course 5xxx or above in Arabic, Greek, Hebrew, Classical Chinese, or a medieval vernacular outside the student’s major program.
- Two further courses in Medieval Studies or on medieval topics. The grade in each course must be B or above. Courses counted toward the MA minor may also be counted toward the PhD minor.
Notes
- If an M.A. minor as described above has already been obtained, then only 6 additional semester credits are required, including one 5xxx or higher Latin course.
- Students in Classical fields using Latin to satisfy their classical requirements must substitute a medieval vernacular language for Latin.
Undergraduate Minor
B.A. minor 15 semester credits in courses at the 3xxx, 4xxx, and 5xxx level, chosen in consultation with the Director of Undergraduate Studies.
